Jan Hoen

Mr. Hoen has over 35 years of experience in civil personal injury cases. His areas of specialty are primarily automobile distracted driving and negligence, work travel injuries, catastrophic workers’ compensation claims, and catastrophic medical malpractice. Hampton Injury Law was founded by Jan Hoen. He has recovered

Mr. Hoen served in the United States Army prior to college. Following his military service, he attended Roanoke College and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Mr. Hoen then went on to attend law school at the University of Richmond. After law school, he worked as Law Clerk to Chief Justice Lawrence L. Koontz, Jr. on the Court of Appeals of Virginia.
From 1990 to the present day, Mr. Hoen has been in private practice in Virginia. Mr. Hoen has successfully resolved cases by settlement or mediation and has tried many cases to verdict in courts throughout Virginia. He has also been successful in arguing and pursuing appeals to the Virginia Supreme Court and the United States Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has been a zealous and effective advocate for his clients throughout his entire career.
Mr. Hoen was licensed in 1989 by the Virginia State Bar to practice in the courts of the Commonwealth. In 1993, he was admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. He is an active member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, where he serves as a District Governor for the Third District of Virginia.
